NumPretty Privacy Policy

Overview

NumPretty ("we", "our", or "the extension") is a Chrome browser extension that formats large numbers on web pages for easier reading. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

Information We Collect

1. Data Stored Locally (On Your Device)

The following information is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API and never leaves your device:

• User Preferences: Your settings such as separator style, color scheme, enabled/disabled state, and site exclusions
• Anonymous User ID: A randomly generated identifier (UUID) used solely to link your subscription status
• Usage Statistics: Lifetime count of numbers formatted (stored locally for your reference)

How We Use Your Information

• Provide the Service: Store your preferences to customize number formatting
• Subscription Management: Verify Pro subscription status using your anonymous user ID
• Payment Processing: Process payments through Stripe when you upgrade to Pro

Data Storage and Security

Your preferences are stored using Chrome's built-in storage APIs:

• chrome.storage.sync: Settings that sync across your Chrome browsers (preferences, subscription status)
• chrome.storage.local: Data stored only on the current device (user ID, customer ID)

Subscription data is managed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. We never store your credit card information.

Third-Party Services

Stripe

Vercel

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: View all data stored by the extension in Chrome's storage
• Delete: Remove all extension data by uninstalling NumPretty
• Cancel: Cancel your Pro subscription anytime through the Stripe customer portal
• Portability: Export your settings from the extension options page

Data Retention

• Local Data: Retained until you uninstall the extension or clear browser data
• Subscription Data: Retained by Stripe according to their data retention policies

Children's Privacy

NumPretty is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.
